REFOŠK – the most widespread variety in Slovenska Istra. It is very special, since it produces an unusual red wine with explicit acidity. It is a popular and fashionable wine since several years already.   

Synonym: Refosco  

Colour: intensive red with a rim of violet

Aroma: fruity, with a flavour of sour cherry and raspberry, mineral

Taste: acidic grip, somewhat astringent

- produced in Goriška brda, Vipavska dolina, Kras, Slovenska Istra

ŠENTLOVRENKA – in olden days a more popular variety than nowadays, intended for the production of Cviček. Most of it ends up in various easily drinking reds. It is mostly found in Posavje. Complex wines from this variety are not produced in Slovenia  yet.

Synonym: Saint Laurent 

Colour: strawberry with a touch of violet

Aroma: pleasantly fruity

Taste: medium bodied, vinous
